HyperEVM
Big blocks
A setting on your HyperCore account that decides which of HyperEVM’s two block lanes your transactions travel in. You need it on to launch a coin on SAVA, and off for ordinary buys, sells, and claims.
What it is
HyperEVM produces two kinds of block. The numbers below are Hyperliquid’s published initial configuration — not a SAVA invention. Throughput can change in later upgrades.
- Small blocks
- ~1 second, 3M gas
- Big blocks
- ~1 minute, 30M gas
- Who chooses
- The wallet’s HyperCore flag — not a per-transaction checkbox on SAVA
The two mempools are independent. The flag is evmUserModify / usingBigBlocks on HyperCore. While it is true, every HyperEVM transaction from that account waits for a big block.
Why a SAVA launch needs it
SavaFactory.create deploys the token, creates or uses the PRJX pool, mints the LP NFT, and registers it with SavaLocker in one call. That does not fit in a 3M small block. A mainnet create has already been observed above 6M gas; the factory constructor itself was ~3.9M.
If you try to launch on small blocks, the transaction runs out of gas or sits unincluded. Turn big blocks on, send the create, then turn them off.
Gas is paid in HYPE either way. The lane changes how long a transaction waits, not the fee token.
Why to turn it off again
The lane applies to every HyperEVM transaction the account sends — buys, sells, and collectAndSplit claims included. While big blocks are on, those waits are about a minute instead of about a second. They still work; they feel broken.
Useful habit: on, launch, off.
This wallet
SAVA reads eth_usingBigBlocks for the connected address. Enable and Disable both ask for 2 signatures — approveAgent on HyperEVM 999, then a local evmUserModify. Disable never deposits. Enable deposits 1.2 USDC only when this wallet is not a Core user yet. Do not go to app.hyperliquid.xyz.
Network · Connect on HyperEVM · 999
Connect to read this wallet’s HyperCore flag and turn big blocks on or off. Same control as Create.
Optional RPC helper: bigBlockGasPrice instead of gasPrice when estimating the next big block. The 1.2 USDC deposit uses Hyperliquid’s EVM→Core USDC bridge. After that: 2 signatures, no extra site.

Dual-block architecture is how HyperEVM works. Hyperliquid documents it. Worth reading if you would rather not take this page’s word for the numbers.
